Rock climbing intro (1 day)

New to outdoor climbing? This is a full day getting your hands on solid rock in the heart of the Lake District. If you’re moving from bouldering to rock climbing, this is also an ideal course. We’ll go out climbing at a single pitch (short) crag and look at the correct use of harnesses and different types. We’ll teach you to tie in with a rope like a pro and how to belay safely. You’ll gain tips on your climbing technique, as well as learning about different rock types. In the afternoon we might do an abseil. You’ll leave knowing where to get more info, where to buy the best gear and discover more climbing in your local area. Our instructor will point out safety hazards throughout the day so you know how to look after yourself and others. There will be time for questions and lots of photos!
